What Is Project 100?
Project 100 is a major capital improvement initiative titled after the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s plan to conclude the project in alignment with the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 in 2016. Project 100 is tasked to create fan-focused experiences and entertainment options to further establish the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as an iconic sports and entertainment facility as well as “The Greatest Race Course in the World.” Two teams have been assembled to manage Project 100, featuring industry-leading professionals in motorsports, events, government, architecture and construction. Here is the initial timeline for Project 100:
- Phase 1 – Now to May 31, 2014
- Phase 2 – June 1, 2014 to May 31, 2015
- Phase 3 – June 1, 2015 to May 31, 2016
The Project 100 website will serve as a destination for sports fans all over the world to track progress on ideas, designs and concepts. Content such as video, photos, illustrations and blogs will be available throughout the project to keep fans engaged in the progress. In addition to interactive elements, a submission section will be available for productive contributions from our fans. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway thanks you for your support and is excited to launch and conclude Project 100 in conjunction with the 100th Running of “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” – the Indianapolis 500.
